This October, we’re returning with our third Outpost season in which we turn a space in Plymouth’s historic Royal William Yard into a temporary theatre venue to present three weeks of incredible theatre.
From 11th – 30th October, we’ll be hosting a selection of some of the UK’s most exciting companies and artists and, as a new development, this year we are searching for four actors to be part of the Outpost Rep Company.
New Model Theatre are searching for four actors to be part of the Outpost Rep Company. This company will perform three productions over three weeks: a classic, a revival and a new play.
These plays will be A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen, Product by Mark Ravenhill and Foundations a new play by New Model Theatre Artistic Director Tom Nicholas, who will also direct each of the shows.
Each actor will perform in two of the three productions.
The company will consist of two men and two women. Due to the nature of the project, we aren’t looking for a particular casting, focusing instead on forming a strong, collaborative team. We are keen to meet actors of all ethnicities and abilities.
New Model Theatre’s ongoing mission is to create outstanding theatre in Plymouth. As such, we are primarily looking to meet actors with a link to Devon. Whether you currently or have previously lived in the county, we would love to hear from you.
Pay is the equivalent of £430 per week for a total of 5 or 6 weeks, depending on which productions you are involved in.
Preliminary rehearsal dates are scheduled for weekends, Friday to Sunday, throughout September and October with rehearsals and performances taking place both day times and evenings from 11th – 30th October.
Auditions will take place on Sunday 21st August, with two sessions 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm. Please let us know if you have a preference, should you be invited to audition.
