BETA6 was another huge success, with really exciting pieces from Documental and Synapse Theatre. The evening closed Theatre Royal Plymouth‘s equally succesful (and first ever) Forge season which was a fantastic showcase of some of the best Plymouth-based companies all of whom took pieces to this year’s Ignite Festival in Exeter.
For BETA7 we’ll be back in the auditorium of Barbican Theatre and are (as always) inviting companies to apply to share work they’re currently developing with our lovely audience. BETA7 will take place on Saturday 13th September at 8pm. For details of how to apply, head to the BETA page of the NMT website.
We’ve also recently been successful in securing funding from Arts Council England to programme a three week season of theatre in a vacant space in Plymouth during October 2014 in partnership with the Barbican Theatre. As part of this hugely exciting project we’ll be looking to support two Devon-based companies to develop a show for our pop-up venue. This will include a small amount of financial support, a three night run with Box Office split and some marketing and production support.
A more formal call-out will be posted soon but, if you’re interested, drop Tom an email on firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll let you know as soon as it’s up. We’d also love to see any potential work at BETA7.
More details about the Pop-Up Venue will be out soon. Exciting times.
